Lake Bluff resident and author Paul Bergmann discusses his long-awaited book on local architect Stanley D. Anderson. Through his signature Country Georgian style, Anderson and his associates transformed Lake Forest. Stanley D. Anderson's designs for residences, commercial buildings, schools, and horse farms are still praised today for his attention to detail, solid design work, and high-quality standards. This picture book illustrates the classical styles that the firm members drew upon over many decades of work and defines the firm's work by chronology, from Anderson and Ticknor's beginning in 1925 to Bergmann's retirement in 1992. The chapter on Lake Forest High School is a must read for any alumnus or admirer of the school.
