About the History Center

We Cover It All

Founded in 1972 as the Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Historical Society, the History Center has become one of the most innovative museums in Lake County. Since opening at our current site in 2018, we’ve offered more than 250 programs, over 100 tours, and dozens of exhibitions built from new research that showcase different aspects of our history. From art, to politics, to social history, we cover it all. Our vibrant museum campus is free to the public, whether you are here to walk the gardens, see the exhibition galleries, or do some research in the archives. We welcome visitors of all ages to enjoy all that we offer.

Greetings from Lake Forest post card. Very old.
